VENEER TECHNOLOGY

Change your smile and your life with Cosmetic dentistry. Are you ready for a beuatiful smile with Veneer? Cosmetic dentistry, a veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of atooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain.

Porcelain Veneers

This dental work bonds thin pieces of porcelain over the top of teeth to improve size, shape, and color. This procedure can help correct teeth with gaps, irregular shapes, chips, or stains. Because the original teeth are altered to place the veneers, this is an irreversible treatment.

Porcelain Veneers Before and After Photos

My original veneers were put on in 1989. I had them on the front 6 teeth. They held up pretty well, but my gums were receding a bit and my front one was crooked.

I might just be a little OCD, but I'm currently hating this second set of veneers. I had my four front teeth done in 2009 and absolutely loved them! About 5 years later I got a chip in the bottom of my left front veneer. My dentist replaced the two left ones and left the right side.

Composite Veneers

Composite resin veneers can be applied in one day, last 4 - 8 years, and require maintenance (they chip). The cost is less - about half of a Porcelain Restoration. Porcelain Veneers are more durable, last 12-25 years and rarely require maintenance. Both can be used for a variety of esthetic situations and results can be amazing.

Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance (though not necessarily the function) of a person's teeth, gums and/or bite. It primarily focuses on improvement dental aesthetics in color, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance.[1] Many dentists refer to themselves as "cosmetic dentists" regardless of their specific education, specialty, training, and experience in this field. This has been considered unethical with a predominant objective of marketing to patients.
